Are You Saying Yes To Abundance?

Are we saying yes to abundance or are we really saying no? That is the question.

This topic is so broad and means different things to different people so let’s just start in the area of our own life that we are looking to increase in. One way to understand where we might be on the topic of abundance flowing into our life we need to consider the area we are looking to increase in and review our plans to determine if we have planned for success. As we know, those that fail to plan, plan to fail. If it is our intention to succeed by increasing in an area of our life, then we need to align ourselves with the intention by setting a plan that will bring about our desired results. The plan confirms that the intention is authentic and it sets the stage for things to flow. Without it there isn’t a clear channel for the flow of abundance.

Are we saying yes to abundance or are we saying no?

When people come to us with ideas of creating abundance do we say we're not interested or we already have enough?

When someone else is working to receive abundance do we resent them for it?

Do we naturally give of ourselves or do we measure what we give?

When we see wealthy people do we say "oh they have too much"?

Are we resentful in lots of ways?

Do we worry when we see someone that has more than us?

Do we explain away the person seeking abundance as misguided?

These are signs that maybe we are pushing abundance away from our lives.

Many of us have said we want just enough to do this or just enough to do that but we know deep down inside we are saying (I don’t want much) because we don’t know how to receive much. We’ve become so accustomed to not having all that we want that our want list is narrowed down to just enough. We have hopes and dreams of not needing but we are frightened to reach for that we don’t know how we will be able to get.

Many of us have looked for relationships with this mindset, saying I don’t need much and when we speak of having a mate we say (I just want someone who will be faithful etc). We don’t go the extra mile and say what we really want. We think it’s too much and therefore we don’t receive what we want then we find ourselves in that relationship that we thought would be enough, now feeling dissatisfied. If we're afraid to ask then we can’t possibly receive. The abundance of a loving relationship awaits us if we can believe and have a real hope in receiving it.

The same goes for money. Some of us without loads of money are great at saying (money is not everything). Some of us might even get very upset at the very mention of it and then use words to describe how unsatisfied they are about others who are looking to increase financially. What we don’t realise is that we are in that moment pushing away the abundance of money from entering our own lives. Many of us have great visions and would like to make a huge difference in this world but our visions are most often shelved because of lack of money. Somehow many of us have been programmed that money is evil so we deny needing it or we are ashamed of wanting it. Worse still some of us have close our minds all together to what abundance means because of past conditioning. Let us search our hearts and see if we have said yes to the abundance that God has laid out for us or if we have said no to it.

When we look at those who operate in abundance we will see they say yes to the full abundance of life more often than no they say no.

God intended us to live an abundant life and abundance means overflow, plenty and more than enough. If we can, reflect on the words of Jesus when he says he has come that we may have life and have it more abundantly. He is saying we have life in abundance in every area of our lives. Can we reflect on his words when he says “ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” This doesn’t sound like a promise that is half hearted nor does it sound like we need to be living in poverty with no hope for greater things. Instead it sounds to me like when we were created we were well thought of; we were given dominion and power over all the earth. Just because we can’t see the abundance God has laid out for us doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Abundance is certain to those who see it. ~ Donniece Greene-Smith
